As leather is a natural material, it does not qualify as fully waterproof protection. However, the leather used in our range of footwear has water resistant properties due to the tanning process used on the hides. When exposed to rain, light snow, or wet grass for example, the waterproof* leather should provide protection from the elements.
If your leather boots do become wet, allow them to dry naturally at room temperature.
Do not expose them to an artificial heat source as this can cause considerable damage to the leather.
We recommend regular use of a Waterproofing Spray or wax to enhance the resistance to moisture.
*Leathers referred to as waterproof are routinely tested for resistance to water penetration up to 12,000 / 15,000 flexes using one of the following SATRA test methos: TM171 using SATRA STM703 Bally penetrometer (or equivalent) or TM34 using SATRA STM606D Maeser type WR tester (or equivalent).
