Looking to replace the insoles in your Blundstone boots? Here’s everything you need to know about our premium insoles, including how to choose the right size, how to trim for the perfect fit, and what to expect when swapping out a worn insole for a new one.
Can I buy Blundstone insoles separately?
Yes! Blundstone Comfort Classic, Comfort Arch and Sheepskin Footbeds are available for purchase separately and are compatible with most adult Blundstone boot styles, including Originals, Classics, Dress, Clogs, All-terrain, Thermal, and Women’s High-Tops.
How do I choose the correct insole size?
Blundstone insoles are sized according to your Blundstone boot size. Simply choose the same size number as your boot when ordering. Please note that the number on the bottom of your boot is the AU/UK size and you should convert that to your US size using our size guide.
For example:
- If you wear a US Men’s 9 order a size 9 insole.
- If the available sizes give you a range (ie: 7-8 or 4-6), choose whichever range includes your size and trim the insole win accordance with the lines on the bottom of the insole to your correct size.
Note: Insoles are unisex and match the internal shape of the boot series.
How do I trim the Blundstone insoles?
While most replacement footbeds will fit right out of the box, some may need minor trimming depending on:
- Your boot’s wear pattern
- The exact series of your boots (Classics vs Originals vs Dress)
- Personal comfort preferences
Trimming Instructions:
- Remove your existing (worn) insole.
- Place it on top of the new insole.
- Use a pen or marker to trace the outline of your original insole.
- Trim the new insole slightly outside the line (you can always trim more later).
- Insert the insole into your boot and test for fit.
- You can also use the helpful guideline on the bottom of the insole to trim to the correct size.
Why does my boot feel tighter with a new insole?
This is totally normal. New Blundstone footbeds have more loft, structure, and padding than a broken-in pair. Over time, insoles naturally compress and conform to your foot shape. When you insert a new pair:
- You may feel a snugger fit, especially around the top of your foot (instep).
- The boot may feel slightly smaller or tighter, especially in the first few wears.
- This can be more noticeable in Classics or Thermal boots, which have a slightly deeper footbed area.
What to do:
- Wear the boots with thinner socks for the first few days.
- Give the new insoles a break-in period of a few days of wearing them and they’ll settle down.
Care & Replacement Frequency
- Footbeds should be replaced every 6–12 months depending on use.
To clean your insoles, gently wash with mild soap and air dry. Avoid machine washing or exposing them to heat.
